The Ibn Rushd Fund for Freedom of Thought, in collaboration with the Salam Association, invites you to a lecture on how checkpoints shape mobility, authority, and social life in Egypt and the Maghreb.
The discussion will also highlight the gendered dimensions of these practices, showing how women and marginalized groups often experience checkpoints as sites of surveillance, harassment, or moral regulation, revealing the nature of power in everyday life.
